EuroApp – Where did my money go?

EuroApp – Where did my money go?

Today Berlin, tomorrow Paris, and perhaps Barcelona by the weekend. One thing is clear: banknotes are moving around the world more and faster than their owners. This isn’t just speculation; it can be proven.

The EuroBillTracker community was founded in 2002. Its 170,000 members have made it their mission to record euro banknotes along with their unique number, date, and location. Over 93 million notes with a total value of €1.8 billion have already been added to this database. It’s more than likely that you’ll find one or two notes in your wallet that have already left a trail in the EuroBillTracker community—or will do so in the future.

EuroApp is the free mobile app that fits the community. It allows you to quickly scan a new note while on the go – for example, if you just received it as change and are about to spend it again. Anyone who hasn’t yet become a free member of the community can do so at any time from within the app.

EuroApp: Where has my banknote been?

The EuroApp is incredibly easy to use. The program window already features large buttons for the individual banknote denominations, making it easy to enter a new fiver or twenties. The app then queries the banknotes’ individual serial numbers. The EuroApp automatically switches from the letter to the number keypad as soon as the universal structure of the code requires it.

For each banknote, the user can enter their location or have it recorded via GPS. A comment can also be entered. The banknote’s “travel route” through wallets around the world can then be traced – if data is already available. Of course, this doesn’t just apply to past travel destinations: The EuroApp will also show where a banknote will end up in the future. The path of the money is vividly visualized on a geographical world map.
